When you find a place where they adapt a plate for your kid's taste bud and are so conscious about bringing a non breakable water mug. Service was phenomenal and the atmosphere is so nice.

Speaking of hole in the wall, this place really was a hole in a wall. Hidden in a quaint alley in gastown, this wonderful restaurant is quite something. We were seated in the windows with a wonderful view of the railyard. Our food was really good. The east asian waitstaff and the italian looking waiter was wonderful. We had a wonderful first day in Vancouver thanks to this hole in the wall.

Came here for a work dinner and the experience was excellent. Carlos, our host and server, was excellent. He's respectful, knowledgeable and attentive. He definitely provides top tier service. The atmosphere of the basement eating area was casual but elegant at the same time. The wood beams supporting the ceiling plus the paintings adorning the walls were a great combination. The food was great as well. The bread was your normal bread that you get but it's a great precursor to what was to come. I got the lentil and vegetable soup. That soup was delicious and the pepper added that necessary bite. The veal lasagna was great as well. Sadly, the veal was lost in the lasagna and didn't seem to add much but as a pasta it was delicious. I do recommend having it with parmesan when offered. The saltiness of the cheese complements the tangy tomato sauce very well. Lastly, the chocolate ganache tort is probably my favourite part of the meal. The chocolate was sweet but not too sweet. The ganache was thick and creamy. That dessert will definitely be my go-to when I visit. Overall, the experience was top tier with excellent food and a great server.

Food, wine, and service from Carlos was excellent. We went for the early dinner special 3-courses meal either 45/55/65 per person from 4:30pm-6:30pm. The ambiance is very warm and romantic. Very romantic date spot in Vancouver.

We visited with a party of seven, including two kids, and made a reservation for weekday lunch. The restaurant efficiently seated us upon arrival, and the server/waitress was exceptionally kind. Opting for the lunch special, we were delighted with the fantastic offering that included a Caesar salad and soup and a choice of pasta/risotto or pizza. Every dish tasted amazing, and the entire family wanted to visit again. Worth the experience.

Visiting Canada from England. My husband and I had an amazing time at Al Porto with amazing food. Wait staff were really attentive and friendly. The restaurant is located down a little road in central Vancouver. Have been to Italy several times and the pasta here is like something you would get anywhere in Italy. Would highly recommend and would definitely return.

Really beautiful atmosphere with lots of artworks. The service was very nice as well, and the food was delicious, with many modifications allowed and lots of VEGETARIAN choices. The portion sizes were also reallly good! Pizza was especially great!

I came here to celebrate with my friend. I've been craving a good Italian linguine pescatore since I left calgary & had lots at Buon Giorno on 17th Ave & this placed delivered. Amazing experience, Sixto our server was very helpful in answering all our questions & making our experience memorable. I'll be back with more friends. My only complaint is the affogato, I always thought it was served coffee style in a tea cup. Overall, great experience
